Year 2 Celebration

Location: York Art Gallery

An evening of music in the gallery to mark 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2, the Reflections on War exhibition and a display of work in the Studio, highlighting work produced in Territories workshops.

Territories Sound

Territories has sustained fulfilling partnerships with local community groups and has established new partners, encouraging new faces to visit and engage with York Art Gallery and its collections.

Participation
A total of 125 sessions have been held throughout Year Two of the Territories Community Arts project.  These have been held at York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum. the Museum Gardens and at York St Mary’s, with a total of 478 participants from 14 community organisations:

  • NHS Trust, Occupational Therapy team – Clifton House, York
  • York Carers’ Centre

  • The Western Front Association

15 artists working in different media have run the workshops.  57 support staff have also benefited from working with the groups and the artist for the duration of the workshops.
